You've clearly put a lot of effort into improving this since the first version I saw on NG. I couldn't find any bugs in the game play. It's much more enjoyable now that you're not in fixed motion. I really like the visual style, it reminds me of games I used to play back in the NES/SNES days. I'm quite impressed with this game. Seeing as this is still considered a beta in your description I can't wait to see the final version. I have a few small suggestions. I can't seem to figure out exactly what dictates when a level ends. I'm not sure if it's reaching a certain depth or killing a certain number of enemies. It's not a big deal but I think it'd be an enhancement to be able to tell either how long a level is or what you need to accomplish to finish a level. It took me a couple tries to figure out that the green door in the shop was the exit. If the guy tells you I might have missed it. If he didn't I'd suggest that you either put an exit sign on/above it or have the shop-keep tell you it's the exit. I quite like the music and sound effects, they feel quite nostalgic to me, though a mute button might not be a bad idea for those that like to listen to their own mp3s/music while playing games.

All in all this is turning out to be a great game. I really look forward to seeing the final version and future games from you.

Thanks very much for your review! I'm glad to hear you've been following the project and are content with the development. If you look on the HUD underneath your coins you will see a little bow and arrow, this is how many enemies are required to be killed to finish the level. It is easy to miss :p

It'd be nice if you could use a key other than the space bar. I'm not a huge fan of using space in games when it's the only key or a letter could just as easily be used.

You can left-click.

It sounds like a cool concept but it appears to be broken. I couldn't click on either bit of text in the first screen. I'd recommend that you make the click-able area larger. It might also be a good idea to turn the text into buttons so it's easier to read. I hope you polish the game up a bit. I'd really like to play it when it's working better.

I'm sorry, when you go into the game you have to click on the house or woods, I should have added this in the description since this is one of the games biggest problems. When I was making the game for some reason I couldn't get the button to work with the text and it kept breaking so I had to switch the buttons to the pictures. Thank you for posting this or I would have completely forgotten about it. I hope you do give the game another try if you'd like. I'm sorry.
In the remake of the game this will be fixed along with many other things.

It's very well done. It would be nice to be able to skip through the dialogue as I'm not in much of a reading mood today. I quite like the puzzle elements.

FreeAsANerd responds:

If you hold the down or S buttons instead of tapping, you can quickly cycle through a conversation. Glad you're having fun, though!

There's really nothing new about this one. And what it is isn't done well. It's so slow to respond that it kind of kills the point of trying to beat a time. The graphics are pretty bad. They look like they're just pulled off a Google image search. I'd have rated it better if the artwork was of a higher quality.

Happy Easter ^_^!!!

I really like this game and the concept. But it would be loads better if you could undo moves rather than having to start from scratch any time you make a mistake.

semiPerfection responds:

Your exactly right, I've updated the game to allow you to undo moves. (Press 'E' or 'U' to undo a move). Thanks for playing!

I think the concept is cool. But when it asks you to make choices like who to assassinate or to support/refute someone's claim you should really be able to look at the trust stats first.

theMRI responds:

Thank you very much for the suggestion, I will implement that.

The only thing that shows up is a screen explaining that this game is stolen with a link to the NG home page.

FuzzyMint responds:

Hey there, Sorry about that, I messed up on the sitelock -- Should work fine now :) enjoy

I really like this game. The artwork is great, it's a really solid pi-cross game. Though I wish you could disable the custom cursor. The cursor moves very slowly to the point where it's not enjoyable to play. It seems to be a common problem with Flash that custom cursors move slowly. It doesn't happen in any other apps and my computer's more than powerful enough for the game.

BeardshakerGames responds:

Thanks for your feedback, and also thank you for pointing out the custom cursor issue. We will keep that in mind for our next production. :)

It works. But nothing about this intrigues me enough to check out the full version.

You could check out the Newgrounds challenge where you race against other Newgrounds users :)
