It's a fun game. It'd be a damn near perfect game with one change. The sponsor logo in the bottom right hand side of the screen is too big. It interferes with game play. If the logo were relocated and re-sized I'd have rated this as a 5.

gladius2metal responds:

thanks! I just uploaded a new version (1.27) with a re-sized logo, I hope this is better! Please let me know.

I don't think I've enjoyed a space game that much since Tie Fighter. I really hope this does well enough that you do a sequel or six. I had no issues with the controls on Firefox 11.0 on Fedora with Flash 11. Though there might be one small bug. In the system on the middle of the right side of the stage, after doing all of the missions and buying all the upgrades the available upgrades count was stuck at 5.

JonasKyratzes responds:

You're right, there was a problem with the upgrades in Occator Prime. I've fixed it. Thanks!

I think this game has potential but it needs some work in a few areas. Although written very well, the instructions are too damned long. I think you could get it down to a paragraph or two and still have all the necessary info. The controls are a bit erratic when you're selecting letters. And the game seems to just go to a blank-ish screen after level 10. All in all I think with a little more work you'd have a killer game. I quite enjoyed the levels I was able to play.

fine0023 responds:

instructions have been drastically changed!

The controls are not very intuitive. I don't see a reason to have to reach from the Space/x/z area to the numbers.

bjncube responds:

Yeah, that's a good point. I'll probably redo the controls and resubmit it in the next 24hrs.

I quite like it with one exception. The enemies take entirely too damned many bullets to kill.

ST3ALTH15 responds:

Haha, but that what makes the game fun :)

It has potential. Though there are a few problems. It's a minor annoyance that there's a white bar around all of the edges of the screen like the background isn't quite bit enough for the stage. And there seems to be a bit of a bug where you sometimes fall through the platforms. The spikes are kind of hard to fit under. If you fixed a few minor things and added some sound it'd be a pretty good game.

ibzz responds:

thanks man so much, this is my first thing and took me a while, i will fix everything you requested, to make my game better thank you so much :D

Amusing tool

I like the concept. The link you posted says it can't be found. I'm guessing it's related to experiment Richard Dawkins wrote for "The Blind Watchmaker". It's well done. Though, have you considered modifying it so that if part of the string is correct it will keep that and just try to generate the rest of the word? I chose banana and it still hasn't got there after almost 20,000 tries.

HydroEmperor responds:

It was based off Jesse Anderson's work, the link may only work in the UK since its from the BBC.

Having it save letters is a good idea but defeats the purpose, Maybe I'll add it as an option if I ever revisit the project.

And yeah, the more letters you add the less lightly it is to work, a single letter took about 720 tries for me but typing out the word "LOL" still isn't finished for me and its up to 847076 attempts, Silly old chimp.

I really want to like this.

This game would be such an addictive way to pass a few hours but the controls just don't do it for me. I like moving with WASD, but attacking with the number keys while trying to move with WASD is not workable, or at least not comfortable. I think moving by clicking doesn't work out too well. I'd much rather be able to move with WASD, and attack by clicking. When I could select the spells with either the number keys or with the mouse wheel. Given what a mess it is to move and attack at the same time, you take too much damage because you can't really get away from your attackers. As well, it sucks to have to restart the wave when you die. I think it'd be much better off to have a respawn option (Probably with some sort of penalty that you don't get for restarting the wave.) With some work I think this game would be more addictive than crack.

TehCybernerd responds:

yeah, i see your point. personally i like the clicking to move, but then maybe i'm just too used to it from hours upon hours of testing. i hadn't thought of the mouse wheel for spell selection though. that's an interesting idea. let's hope it gets included in the sequel.

thing about respawning mid-wave is that there are way more values to save/load. i'm tired of coding. i promise the next one will be better.

This may be my favourite escape game.

I absolutely loved this game. The music was the best part. I think the cellos were used perfectly to set a bit of a creepy atmosphere. The puzzles were rather challenging without being overly difficult. The map system was incredibly useful. The graphics were nicely done. Though the pieces you put on the silver disc seemed like they didn't quite fit in as well as they should have. All in all, this was a really great game.

selfdefiant responds:

Thanks!

Pretty basic and seems unfinished, but cool

The information is pretty basic information. And it seems that it's not yet finished because the main menu has three blank spots. But it's cool that you're putting out information that could help someone else learn the program. Though wouldn't it be better to do this for a more recent release since Adobe is currently on CS 5 something? I like that it's clean looking and doesn't try to add unnecessary music or animation.

iloveicelollies responds:

I suppose. I don't think that my college has a license for CS5.1 yet though xD Thanks for the criticism!
